The Torrent de Canyamel divides the touristy southern half, with hotels, pedestrian zone and the Torre de Canyamel, with the sophisticated northern half, at Cap Vermell, where the golf course and the Coves d'Artà are located, as well as many villas. The two areas are connected by a small bridge.

The fine sandy beach is about 300 metres long and is a popular destination in summer, but also very popular with nature lovers in winter.
